Up In The Air, LLC (d/b/a Breeze Air Charters) is seeking an experienced and FAA-certified Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P) to support on-call line maintenance operations for contracted airlines at Cyril E. King Airport (STT), as well as scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Breeze Air Charters’ FAA Part 135 aircraft fleet, which currently includes a Pilatus PC-12 and a Piper Aztec.

This role is based in St. Thomas, USVI, and requires a highly skilled and professional technician capable of working independently, maintaining aircraft to the highest FAA and operator standards, and ensuring safe, timely service 24/7.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to airline maintenance requests on an on-call basis.
• Perform all maintenance in accordance with FAA-approved maintenance program, manuals, and directives.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections on Breeze Air Charters' fleet of Part 135 aircraft (currently a Pilatus PC-12 and a Piper Aztec).
• Coordinate with operations and flight crews to ensure timely return-to-service of charter aircraft.
• Communicate with airline Maintenance Control Centers before performing any services and follow all provided instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities and training in accordance with FAA regulations and company requirements.
• Store and manage any airline-provided parts and supplies; maintain separation from Breeze Air Charters inventory.
• Use only calibrated, serviceable tools and approved documentation while performing maintenance.
• Ensure safe working practices and compliance with all FAA, OSHA, and TSA security and safety regulations.
• Wear proper uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty.
• Maintain valid FAA Airframe & Power Plant certification in good standing.

Required:

• FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) Certification in good standing.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience performing maintenance on fixed-wing aircraft.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, including Part 43, Part 65, Part 91, and Part 135 maintenance rules.
• Ability to work independently in a remote/on-call setting with limited supervision.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, particularly in both turbine and piston aircraft systems.
• Strong technical documentation skills—must be able to accurately complete logbook entries, maintenance releases, and reports.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data, aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in a tropical climate and variable weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles on the Airport Operating Area (AOA).
• U.S. work authorization and ability to pass FAA/DOT drug and alcohol testing and background check.
  

Preferred:

• Prior experience performing line maintenance for Part 121 carriers.
• Pilatus PC-12 and/or Piper Aztec maintenance experience, including Pratt & Whitney PT6 and Lycoming engines.
• Familiarity with campus storage procedures and handling of airline-provided inventory.
• Experience working in a Part 135 operational environment, including MELs, weight & balance support, and interaction with flight crews.
• IA (Inspection Authorization) credential.
• Experience with aviation maintenance tracking software (e.g., CAMP, Flightdocs, Traxxall).
• Avionics troubleshooting or basic electrical diagnostic capability.
