CatFace is seeking an experienced Animation Supervisor to join our growing Animation Department. In this role, youll oversee a talented team of animators and help shape the visual storytelling of our productions. Were looking for a leader who combines hands-on animation expertise with the ability to inspire, mentor, and keep projects moving efficientlybalancing artistic vision with production realities. This position is open to fully remote or hybrid candidates based in the Austin, TX area. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

What Youll Do

• Partner with the Director of Animation and studio leadership to define and maintain the creative vision for animated projects.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire the animation team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• Assign and track departmental tasks, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
• Provide clear, actionable feedback to animators and layout artists on daily work.
• Review, approve, and deliver shots before final submission, relaying director feedback effectively to artists.
• Collaborate with production management to identify risks to schedules and implement solutions or mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to workflow development, best practices, and documentation to support internal and external teams.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and talent development as needed.

What Were Looking For

• Bachelors Degree in Animation, Computer Animation, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 5+ years of experience in animation for web series, television or feature production.
• 2+ years of leadership experience as an Animation Supervisor, Lead Animator, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, acting, and cinematic storytelling.
• Demonstrated senior-level animation skills via a professional demo reel.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Maya and the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Familiarity with production tracking and version control tools (e.g., Monday, Shotgrid, Perforce, etc).
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
