Job Description

Job Description

Sharan Builders, Inc. is a fully licensed, insured, and bonded general contractor serving New York State and New York City. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Construction Project Manager to support our project management team in overseeing projects of varying sizes and complexity from inception to completion.

This role involves both field and administrative responsibilities: assisting with scheduling, safety, project tracking, reporting, documentation, and managing communication between clients, subcontractors, vendors, and field staff. The ideal candidate is a multi-tasker with excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, capable of supporting both on-site operations and office-based project coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the project manager with daily field operations, including safety, construction progress, and quality control.
  • Maintain project schedules, prepare two-week look-ahead reports, and attend schedule review meetings.
  • Track and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and deliveries to ensure timely project completion.
  • Assist with document control: manage project files, revisions, RFIs, COs, submittals, as-builts, and OSHA logs.
  • Prepare and process change orders, cost estimates, payment requisitions, and work orders.
  • Assist with bidding and pre-bid meetings, ensuring contract documents are completed and filed on time.
  • Support in material procurement, handling, storage, and placement.
  • Maintain and review punch list items to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide administrative support, including meeting attendance, reporting, and correspondence with clients and agencies.

Essential Skills, Requirements, and Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in construction project support/management, preferably with NYC and NYS government projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to generate takeoffs and local knowledge of material sourcing and pricing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and construction management software.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Must have OSHA 30-hour training and a valid driver’s license.
  • U.S. work authorization required.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, including to the Albany region.
  • This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow into a full Project Manager role by gaining experience in both administrative project coordination and field management responsibilities.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (commensurate with experience; please include salary requirements with application)
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and benefits
  • Opportunities to manage high-profile public projects in New York City and Upstate New York
  • Sharan Builders, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
