Position Overview
Were looking for a thoughtful, mission-driven attorney to join our small but mighty team. As our second attorney, youll collaborate closely with our lead attorney, along with a dedicated group of paralegals and support staff who care deeply about the clients and communities we serve.

Your day-to-day might include representing clients in immigration and criminal matters, engaging in litigation, responding to urgent legal situations, and collaborating with local partners to create broader impact. We're a hands-on, collaborative office where your ideas and voice matter.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to do meaningful work at the intersection of immigration and criminal defense, in a supportive environment, without the hierarchy or formality of a traditional law firm.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

• Provide legal representation in removal defense and related immigration matters, as well as criminal defense cases with immigration consequences.
• Represent clients in various forums including USCIS interviews, EOIR proceedings, and Arizona state criminal courts.
• Handle a wide range of immigration matters, including asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), family-based petitions, adjustment of status, and naturalization.
• Guide clients through consular processing and file immigration waivers, including I-601, I-601A, and I-212 applications.
• Represent survivors of crime and abuse through humanitarian relief pathways, including VAWA self-petitions, U visas, and T visas.
• Advise clients on the immigration consequences of criminal charges or convictions, and coordinate criminal and immigration strategies accordingly.
• Represent clients in misdemeanor and selected felony criminal proceedings, including motion practice and plea negotiations.
• Travel to detention centers and custodial settings to meet with clients and assess legal needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Arizona State Bar or licensed in another state with ability to become admitted in Arizona.
• Strong legal research, writing, and case management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in immigration and/or criminal law is preferred but not required.

Language Skills

• Spanish proficiency is required; additional languages are a plus.

Pay: DOE + Bonuses
