Dance Instructor

Job Preview

The Dance Instructor will teach dance to a wide range of ages and skill levels. 

Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading and instructing dance classes for children and adults
• Responsible for development of progressive curriculum for various age groups
• Set-up equipment and perform safety checks.
• Communicate with parents and guardians.
• Responsible for set-up prior to class and clean-up after class.
• Supervise children after class until pick-up by parent or guardian.
• Assisting with marketing of classes provided
• Display creativity in the programs and willingness to improve the experience to maintain engagement, fun and development of students.

Job Requirements 

• First Aid and CPR Certified, or willing to obtain upon hire.
• Dance background experience.
• Coaching/instructor background, a plus!
• One to three years’ experience in Preschool Tumbling and Gymnastics ideal.
• Ability to communicate with children and parents.
• Ability to work autonomously and maintain class rosters along with facilitation of classes.

Physical Demands

• Work requires ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
• Work requires ability to carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
• Work requires ability to stand, walk and kneel for 90% of work time.
• Work requires ability to stoop and bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, have manual dexterity and color vision and communication with other people.

Compensation details: 16-17 Hourly Wage
