December 30, 2024 Delivery Driver & Plant Maintenance Associate The Old Yew Plant Shop seeks an experienced, responsible & self-motivated individual to support our Installation and Maintenance team. The Old Yew is a quickly growing small business centered around connecting people with plants. The core of our business is our retail plant shops in the West Village, Chelsea, and the Upper West Side NYC, where we stock a wide variety of plants sourced directly from growers around the country. We work with homeowners and interior designers to style & place statement plants and offer full-service landscape design and installation throughout the New York boroughs and beyond. From expert selection of the finest specimens to white glove delivery, installation, and maintenance, we bring homes, offices, and outdoor spaces to glorious, green life, and we are searching for a rockstar candidate to assist our Field Team in achieving this goal. RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: The Delivery Driver & Plant Maintenance Associate will be responsible for providing a premium quality of service to our clients on all projects and ensuring successful, safe, clean, and efficient indoor and outdoor plant projects. REQUIREMENTS: Must have a valid driver's license and experience driving company vans / box trucks in NYC (CDL not required). Basic horticulture experience and plant care knowledge required. Ability to lift / carry large plants, planters, and soil 50lbs+. You must be punctual and reliable and record your time properly. Time management and multi-tasking skills are essential to this position. QUALIFICATIONS: Assist with the loading of the day’s plants, planters and other materials. Maintain installation tools and equipment & make sure the team is equipped for the day. Review work order & job installation instructions. Maintain polite, professional and respectful demeanor to clients. Assist at retail shops as necessary, including unloading incoming material deliveries. Willingness and desire to learn about interior & exterior plant design and expand plant species knowledge. Willing to work late if the job requires. Ability to work occasional weekends.
