The Deputy Compliance Officer will be responsible for insuring employees comply with various federal and state healthcare regulations and the company's policies and for conducting training of new and existing employees for understanding of applicable. The Deputy Compliance Officer further assists the Chief Compliance Officer in implementing, monitoring, evaluating and enforcing the Compliance Department and Compliance Program.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and interpret state and federal regulatory, statutory, judicial and administrative rules.
  • Review and manage regulatory reports as applicable.
  • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer to establish standards and implement procedures to ensure that the Compliance Program is effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting, and correcting noncompliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in ensuring compliance with the Corporate Integrity Agreement requirements and reporting obligations, when applicable.
  • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer to manage and continuously assess, develop, manage and enhance compliance strategy, policies, and processes to ensure Company conduct is in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations.
  • Provide compliance oversight, guidance and direction to all relevant employees and leadership.
  • Assist the CCO in monitoring and reviewing internal investigations into alleged or perceived improprieties or violations of policy or regulations.
  • Assist the CCO in reviewing and assessing information received during the due diligence process.
  • Collaborate, negotiate and drive fact- and risk-based decision making. Assisting other departments to identify areas where compliance input and escalation is required and ensuring consistency in the application across the Company.
  • Assist with the day-to-day management of the Compliance Department, including providing strategic direction and oversight.
  • Ensure training for new employees and refresher courses for all employees meets the guidelines outlined by the OIG.
  • Communicates Medicare policy and procedures to field and staff employees.
  • Responds to calls regarding interpretation of policies and regulations, providing explanations of policies and what is permitted under same.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES – Oversee licensing, Medicare/Medicaid applications, HIPAA, the e-learning system and business marketing expenses.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

Required

  • 5 years healthcare experience with a minimum of 2 years in compliance and/or billing related functions.
  • College Degree Required
  • Experience working with governmental regulators. Experience providing guidance to management on remedial actions.
