E-Commerce Product Photographer South Loop Loft
Full-Time or Part-Time | Chicago-Based
South Loop Loft is seeking an experienced photographer to visually define how our one-of-a-kind vintage furnishings, lighting, and dcor are presented to the world. This is an in-person role at our Chicago studio, and we are open to structuring it as part-time (34 days per week) or full-time (expanded scope) depending on the candidate's qualifications and interest.
The Brand Photographer's primary responsibility is to execute eCommerce photography of approximately 200 products per monthfrom small dcor and mirrors to large-scale lighting and furniture. This requires balancing efficiency with elevated styling and brand storytelling, ensuring our imagery reflects South Loop Loft's reputation for luxury design.
This is an opportunity to shape the visual language of a growing design brand, where every image contributes directly to both sales velocity and brand equity.
Key Responsibilities
Photograph vintage and contemporary furniture, lighting, and objects with precision and attention to materiality.
Style sets that are design-forward, minimal, and consistent with South Loop Loft's brand aesthetic.
Manage digital assets: file naming, cataloging, and uploading into our inventory system.
Collaborate with our Content Manager, Marketing, and Inventory teams to meet weekly production goals.
Provide light retouching when needed; deeper post-production may be outsourced.
(Full-time candidates) Expand beyond eCommerce into editorial and storytelling photography: support campaign imagery, capture showroom vignettes and in-situ photography, visit artist studios, document behind-the-scenes sourcing and restoration, and take a more active role in editing.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of studio and product photography experience.
Proficiency with Capture One Pro (v22 or newer) and Adobe Photoshop.
Experience with professional lighting systems (Profoto preferred).
Strong styling sensibility and ability to make independent creative decisions.
Excellent organizational skills with an eye for efficiency and detail.
Portfolio link showcasing product photography (home goods, design, or reflective surfaces a plus).
Role Structure
In-person at our Chicago studio.
Part-time: 34 days per week focused on eCommerce throughput.
Full-time: Expanded role including editorial campaigns, showroom documentation, brand storytelling, editing.
All equipment provided by South Loop Loft.
Ability to lift up to 50 Ibs.
