Pay: $30-33.37/hour on w2

Timeline: looking to submit by 9/16

Length: 12 months- possibility to extend or convert to full time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Embedded Software Engineer to join our End-to-End Telematics Testing Team. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and evaluating embedded software and systems that support a wide range of applications including medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, and general computing. You will work in a collaborative environment using simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems to validate onboard and back-office features of (Client name removed) digital systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement embedded software solutions from requirements through production and deployment.

Develop and maintain logical and physical database descriptions; collaborate with others on coding and implementation.

Analyze system performance to improve efficiency, stability, and scalability.

Review project requirements and estimate time and cost for implementation.

Create and maintain Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, automate testing, and publish results to Power BI dashboards.

Execute and coordinate product tests using HIL equipment and physical control ECUs.

Document test results and ensure traceability.

Investigate and resolve field issues involving software and electronics.

Communicate technical findings and status updates to internal teams and stakeholders.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

0–2 years of experience in embedded systems or software engineering.

Strong programming skills in C or C++.

Familiarity with reading schematics and component datasheets.

Basic understanding of the full software development lifecycle.

Experience with Azure DevOps (YAML), Git, Python, PowerShell, and Power BI.

Knowledge of embedded systems development tools (e.g., SQL, Visual Basic).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with HIL system testing and hardware setup/maintenance.

Familiarity with testing service tools and remote configuration.

Basic knowledge of Machine and Engine ECUs and software update processes.

Understanding of Machine Datalink architecture, including SAE J1939.

Experience developing test automation using Python.
