Job Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism is seeking applications for a BC/BE Endocrinologist to join a comprehensive academic program with the potential to create a unique clinical practice. This position offers protected time for opportunities to engage in teaching, mentoring, and clinical research at a world-class university. UW Madison offers outstanding clinical facilities and laboratories offering a full range of Endocrine diagnostic procedures and comprehensive care including, but not limited to, thyroid FNA, bone density scans (DXA), diabetes education program, state-of-the-art continuous glucose monitoring, inpatient Diabetes Management Service (DMS) team, multidisciplinary pituitary clinics, and multidisciplinary polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) clinics. This position will provide patient care at Eastpark Medical Center and other University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics approved locations as a member of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Additionally, this position may have a presence at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital when on inpatient endocrinology service. The responsibilities of this position will also include clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and other appropriate services. For appointments hired on Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) Track: 70% - Clinical responsibilities include providing patient care at Eastpark Medical Center in Madison, WI and other University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics approved locations, inpatient endocrinology service and jeopardy call, and in-basket coverage. 30% - Additional responsibilities include research, program development, and/or education activities. The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Academic responsibilities include providing clinical teaching to medical students, residents and fellows as well as participating in division/departmental Grand Rounds and clinical conferences. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members. For appointments hired on Clinical Track: 100% - Clinical responsibilities include providing patient care at Eastpark Medical Center in Madison, WI and other University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics approved locations, inpatient endocrinology service and jeopardy call, and in-basket coverage.
