Job Description

The mission of the National LGBTQ Society is to create a safe space and safe environment for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and our allies through our purpose of providing meaningful support, resourceful resources, and education.

The National LGBTQ Society is currently seeking a volunteer to serve as our Board Treasurer.

This person would report to our President and Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead board director for financial management and oversight.
2. Reconcile bookkeeping through Quickbooks and bank statements.
3. Develop financial policies for funds access, check-signing access, and handling of small cash expenses.
4. Work with the President to ensure that bills are paid on time.
5. Complete an annual audit report.
6. Prepare monthly budget and banking updates.
7. Attend all board meetings.
8. Chair the finance committee if enacted.
9. Update fundraising platforms with donations and import manual donations (such as cash and checks) and donor information to our online platform.

Requirements:

1. Completion of a background check.
2. Trustworthy and responsible due to the importance of the position.
3. Bookkeeping or accounting experience.
4. Basic math skills.

Note: This role is VIRTUAL ; however, we need someone local and you must be willing to come to our office space in Bloomington, MN.
