About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Sports and Event Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing strategic plans to enhance the region's position in hosting premier sports and entertainment events. This role involves serving as the primary liaison among various stakeholders, including sports event organizers, investors, and local government bodies. The Executive Director will also oversee the recruitment and management of staff, produce reports, and ensure the organization's compliance with by-laws and articles of incorporation. Candidates must have a four-year degree from an accredited institution, a minimum of 5 years' experience in sports or a related field, and a proven track record in event coordination and operations. The role requires excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure. The Executive Director will be expected to develop and maintain relationships with key sponsors and partners, create and implement marketing plans, and lead fundraising efforts. A strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization, as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, are essential.
