Overview Fitness Trainer role at Planet Fitness. This position involves running the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout plans and instructing proper use of equipment. Responsibilities Conduct and run the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and following the schedule. Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to properly and safely use the equipment. Promote the Judgement Free Zone by connecting with members on the club floor, offering assistance and supporting them in their fitness journeys while upholding club policies. Perform regular walkthroughs of all fitness areas to ensure a great member experience and address issues promptly. Create bi-weekly updates with a variety of exercises. Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic. Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner; escalate to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed. Front desk related activities: answer phones, assist callers, check members into the system, sign-up new members, give tours, and update member accounts as needed. Maintain the neatness and cleanliness of the club, including cleaning and sanitizing all exercise equipment and spa amenities; perform a comprehensive walk-through and address safety/policy issues as well as cleanliness concerns; ensure restrooms are clean and stocked following the routine cleaning schedule. Qualifications/Requirements Previous Fitness Trainer/Instructor experience preferred. Nationally Certified Training Certificate required. Passion for fitness and health; upbeat and positive attitude. Punctuality and reliability; exceptional customer service skills with members and co-workers. Strong listening, empathy, and problem-solving skills; diplomacy in all interactions and appropriate behavior and language. High School diploma/GED equivalent preferred; must be 18 years of age or older. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shift; continual talking in person or on the phone. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs; may encounter toxic chemicals during shift. Moving in various positions including bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and twisting to accomplish tasks.
