The Ellis Hotel, a Colwen Hotels Property, is seeking a dependable, organized and diligent General Cleaning and Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms or public spaces as required. General Responsibilities: - Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guests rooms, (CARE, RPM, GCPM), meeting rooms and public spaces as required.
- Flip/inspect mattresses, box springs and assemble bed frames
- Vacuum behind and underneath furniture
- Spot clean carpets and upholstery
- Dust, touch-up painting and furniture
- Ensure all necessary hardware and appliances are present in the room and are in working order
- Replace light fixtures
- Inspect and repair grout and caulking
- Maintain, repair and clean all guest rooms in accordance with the property room preventative maintenance procedures and standard guidelines
- Perform miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs and patching holes in walls
- Perform general cleaning of all guestroom surfaces to include tub, wall tile, hard floors, walls, windows and mirrors
- Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings or safety hazards immediately to the manager/supervisor
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements: - Previous maintenance or related experience, hotel experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Able to interact with guest in a pleasant and friendly way
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
- Prioritization and time management skills
- Familiar with common computer software programs
- Ability to learn new computer software programs and operate property management system
- Able to work 7-day rotational work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
