Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced  Billing Specialist to join our Home Health Agency team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the complete billing cycle, from insurance verification to claims submission, payment processing, and denial management. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursements for the care we provide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Claim Submission:
  • Prepare and submit clean, accurate claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  • Ensure compliance with payer-specific billing guidelines and coding requirements.
• Insurance Verification:
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage prior to services being rendered.
  • Communicate with patients and insurance providers to confirm benefits and authorizations.
• Payment Processing:
  • Post and reconcile payments and remittance advice accurately.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims.
• Claim Denial Management:
  • Review and analyze denied or rejected claims.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Resubmit corrected claims and appeal denials as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in medical billing, preferably in a home health or healthcare setting.
• Solid understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing practices.
• Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret explanation of benefits (EOBs) and remittance advice.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
