A-Line Staffing is now hiring an Instrument Assembly Technician in Sparks, MD.
This Instrument Assembly Technician position is a full-time contract opportunity with strong hours, hands-on manufacturing work, and long-term potential based on performance and business needs.

Instrument Assembly Technician – Compensation

  • The pay for this position is $21.82 per hour
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
  • A 401(k) with company match is available after 1 year of service

Instrument Assembly Technician – Schedule

  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Mandatory overtime is required as business needs dictate

Instrument Assembly Technician – Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies
  • Assemble, integrate, and support multiple instrument product lines
  • Follow diagrams, drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards
  • Perform wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, and fitting
  • Conduct quality inspections in accordance with specifications and GMP standards
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test assemblies and subassemblies
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve moderately complex assembly issues
  • Execute basic test instructions and analyze results to determine pass/fail
  • Maintain accurate device history records, including serial numbers and documentation
  • Provide training and mentorship to associates as needed
  • Support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Perform standard material handling functions
  • Comply with all safety, quality, and company policies
  • Perform other duties as required

Instrument Assembly Technician – Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
    AND
    • Minimum 2.5 years of manufacturing experience in a regulated environment
      OR
    • Associate’s degree with relevant technical experience
  • Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
  • Proficiency with mechanical tools (torque drivers, gauges, measuring tools)
  • Basic computer skills in a Windows environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive work
  • Ability to manage multiple production orders and changing priorities
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and basic math)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership or mentoring experience
  • Experience with electromechanical or medical device assembly
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing principles
