Job Summary
The Instrument Electrical Technician will maintain plant equipment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintain a high degree of housekeeping in assigned work areas, including the shop and elsewhere as assigned.
- Receive training to be qualified to perform all functions.
- Train unqualified individuals on any Instrument / Electrical Technician functions with which they are unfamiliar.
- Unload trucks, trailers etc. for receiving; stock and remove items from storerooms / buildings.
- Label and charge out inventory.
- Maintain Plant “bone yard”.
- Read and comprehend electrical and loop drawings.
- Knowledge of wiring sizes and grounding systems.
- Communicate to operations employees and supervisors the identification of problems and completion of jobs in their area both verbally, and by noting the operator’s logbook.
- Use of computer in daily routine including data entry into computerized management maintenance system.
- Operate tools and machinery to effect assigned repair work.
- Troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate, test, remove, and clean plant electrical equipment / assets.
- Comply with all HSE regulations, policies, standards, and practices including, but not limited to:
- Identifying and wearing all necessary PPE.
- Conducting and documenting inspections of all motorized equipment and ladders; properly labeling all containers.
- Reporting all injuries; identifying, securing, and reporting conditions that are unsafe to health and environment in assigned work areas; participating in and complying with safe work permitting.
- Maintaining a high level of housekeeping in assigned work area and elsewhere as directed; actively participating in haz-ops, JSA reviews, safety meetings, and other safety activities as assigned.
- Performing all necessary audits and operator/PM checks required in HSE related permits (e.g., CAA requirements).
Education
- High School Diploma and Licensed as Electrician.
Work Experience
- 5 years minimum as an Electrician, to be able to understand and perform the job duties listed above.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to receive written and verbal instructions from supervision.
- Ability to comprehend and comply with Company policy and procedures.

- Report any and all quality related issues or non-conformities to your manager
- Maintain awareness, proactively participate and support all Axens policies for quality management
- Assist in the continual improvement of an effective Integrated Management System complying with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015
- Assist in achieving Site, Department, Regional and Global Quality Management Program goals and objectives.
Health and Safety:
- Take responsibility for the health and safety of self and others
- Report any and all health and safety incidents to your manager
- Maintain awareness, proactively participate and support all Axens policies and objectives regarding health and safety
- Assist in the continual improvement of an effective Integrated Management System complying with the requirements of ISO 45001:2018
- Assist in achieving Site, Departmental, Regional and Global Health and Safety goals and objectives
Environmental:
- Take responsibility for the sustainability of Axens and protecting the environment
- Report any and all environmental concerns or incidents to your manager
- Maintain awareness, proactively participate and support all Axens policies regarding environmental protection
- Assist in the continual improvement of an effective Integrated Management System complying with the requirements of ISO 14001:2015
- Assist in achieving Site, Departmental, Regional and Global Environmental Management Program goals and objectives
