Order Picker

Aerotek's client is seeking an Order Picker to join their team in the Hanover, MD area

As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for riding a sit-down forklift to pick orders from an invoice sheet.

• Your tasks will include locating, pulling, and stacking items on the forklift.
• You will also operate a reach truck and may load trailers and pack items for shipping. The items handled weigh up to 50lbs.
• This position requires working from 3 pm until finish.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down forklifts and reach trucks to pick orders.
• Locate and pull items from invoice sheets and stack them on forklifts.
• Load trailers and pack items for shipping.
• Work in cooler and freezer environments to pick orders.
• Continuously lift items weighing 50lbs throughout the shift.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating sit-down forklifts and riding pallet jacks.
• Experience in warehouse, material handling, and order picking.
• Ability to work in cold temperatures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Accuracy and attention to detail are required to prevent errors in order picking.
• Competitive nature with self-motivation and independence.
• Ability to eventually train in invoicing and closing out orders.

Work Environment

• Work in the world's largest bakery supply company, distributing commodities such as flour, sugar, food coloring, and frosting. You will be part of a small crew of 7-8 people on the warehouse floor, in a relaxed atmosphere with no micromanaging.

Qualified candidates will be given a call within 48 hours of submitting an application

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
