Job Description
Umbra builds next-generation space systems that observe the Earth in unprecedented fidelity.
Our mission: Deliver global omniscience.
To stay ahead of climate change, geopolitical risk, and other major crises and issues, we need a global understanding of what is changing, where, and how fast. Umbra provides easy access to the highest quality commercial satellite data available, which is an indispensable tool for the growing number of organizations monitoring the Earth. We empower our customers to create solutions that inform, inspire, and address our planet’s most pressing needs. We’re helping to create a brand-new industry that has never meaningfully existed before.
As the DoD Portfolio Manager at Umbra, you have the exciting opportunity to impress our customers and users with top-notch products and solutions that are delivered punctually and within budget, all while fulfilling our contractual commitments. You recognize the intricate connections necessary for successful program execution and can translate that insight into well-structured roadmaps, schedules, and budgets that you diligently monitor throughout the program’s lifecycle. You skillfully manage development scope while employing processes from the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Your communication skills are exceptional: you effectively collaborate with a diverse range of technical and non-technical groups, deliver concise and confident briefings to leadership, and cultivate strong partnerships with your customers. You will dive into Umbra’s technologies, enhancing your ability to support customers and manage technical progress efficiently. Additionally, you will proactively address program issues and emerging risks. As pipeline opportunities evolve into specific captures, you will spearhead proposals and RFI responses, driving organic growth. As your portfolio expands, you will take on the important role of managing and mentoring program managers in the planning and execution of the portfolio.
Our aim is to hire this position to work in Umbra's Arlington, VA office and will require the ability to work in a SCIF part-time.
