The Regional Science Liaison (RSL) position serves as a field-based scientific expert for Jazz Pharmaceuticals' products. The RSL will establish and maintain scientific and clinical relationships with community medical professionals and other members of the local healthcare community in alignment with our therapeutic areas of focus. RSLs manage group and individual projects while establishing and maintaining scientific and clinical relationships with community medical professionals in alignment with our therapeutic areas of focus. The Regional Science Liaison team in conjunction with the Director, Medical Science Liaisons and Medical Leadership will integrate their scientific expertise and knowledge in all interactions and ensure compliant and successful scientific communication and education in disease states of interest to Jazz Pharmaceuticals. 

This is a field-based position covering the Eastern US region.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide field-based scientific exchange and communication of FDA approved products to community healthcare providers

  • In support of FDA approved products, work within the USMA Sleep medical team objectives

  • Identify, establish, and maintain scientific relationships with community health care providers regarding disease-state and product-specific information

  • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from community healthcare providers received through the Medical Information Request system

  • As needed, connect investigators interested in developing and performing investigator-initiated research with appropriate internal stakeholders

  • Establish relationships with cross functional field partners for compliant ways of working

  • Establish relationships and transparent communication with the Medical Science Liaison team to ensure appropriate ways of working in overlapping regions

  • Document and forward reports of adverse events according to Jazz’s policy to ensure safe and effective use of Jazz Pharmaceuticals' products

  • Attend and provide scientific support of Medical Affairs activities and scientific sessions at local and regional congress meetings

  • Develop and prioritize solutions to problems, understand relationship between actions and results and able to understand and appreciate needs of customers

  • Proactively seeks out and demonstrates successful peer coaching with other team members for sharing of best practices

  • Successfully manages project work with demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills while successfully maintaining geographical responsibilities

Job Requirements:

  • Either an advanced doctorate degree (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD or equivalent) OR a certified license (NP, CNP, PA or equivalent) with a minimum of a Master’s Degree is required

  • A minimum of 0-2 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or clinical/research experience 

  • Preference will be given those with experience in Sleep Medicine; however, experience in Neurology, Psychiatry or other relevant backgrounds will be considered

  • Ability to effectively communicate scientific data to both internal and external customers, including excellent presentation skills

  • Thorough understanding of applicable federal and state regulatory requirements for field-based scientific personnel

  • Demonstrated ability to develop trust and relationships with healthcare providers in disease states of interest

  • Collaborative, team-based approach; ability to network and partner with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

  • Ability and willingness to travel 70% of work days

  • Responsibilities may require a work schedule that may include working outside of “normal” work hours, in order to meet business demands.

  • Frequent public contact requiring appropriate business apparel.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the full and complete base pay range is: $152,000.00 - $228,000.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
