The Clinical Research Nurse leads, manages and coordinates research programs and studies for the Clinical Research Program and physician Principal Investigators. Provides nursing leadership in accordance with protocol requirements, physicians’ orders, and applicable medical center policies and procedures; and performs related work as required. Adheres to Federal and State regulations and sponsor guidelines. Ensures hospital compliance with required terms and conditions for final and ongoing approval to participate in the study.

General Summary:

Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

Minimum licensure/certification required (if applicable):

Bachelor’s Degree required, BSN strongly preferred, MSN strongly preferred. Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner. Clinical Research Certification preferred. Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certification ,

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Driver License.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

Three or more years of nursing experience; active practice within the past 5 years preferred. One or more years of experience in leading or coordinating clinical research studies required. Experience in Oncology. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of personal computers, data base procedures, spreadsheet software and word processing software. Ability to accurately collect and record clinical information from the medical record efficiently; to organize data in computer program for report generation. Ability to plan and implement recruitment campaigns. Ability to coordinate the activities of a multidisciplinary research team including physicians. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Ability to delegate tasks to support staff.

Reporting Relationship:

Reports directly to the Manager of Holy Cross Hospital Clinical Research Program. Organization and implementation of responsibilities to be accomplished through self-direction and initiatives.

Pay Range: $37.18-$55.77
