As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will help shape and implement our network security strategy and controls. You'll have a big impact while collaborating with security and cross-functional teams to secure our networks, protect our services and platforms. As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will be part of the Platform Security team, reporting to the Director of Platform Security. You'll work closely with other people in the Information Security (InfoSec) team as well as partner with multiple Roblox infrastructure engineering teams. You will: Design and implement protection and detection solutions to protect Roblox's networks from external threats and internal risks. Identify security vulnerabilities & gaps in our network infrastructure and partner with our infrastructure teams on improvements. Provide design reviews & guidelines from network security perspective for Roblox's tools, services, and platforms. You have: 4+ years of relevant professional experience. Experience writing and maintaining code in at least one programming language such as Python, Golang or C#, and you are eager to learn new languages and technologies. Deep understanding of data center and cloud network architectures, network security concepts, best practices, and network defense techniques! In-depth knowledge of Network routings and protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, etc.), attack vectors, techniques, and remediations. Hands-on experience with L4/L7 network proxies is a plus. Understanding of advanced packet processing technologies and frameworks, such as DPDK, eBPF, etc. is a plus. You are: Collaborative: You love working with your direct team and cross-functional partners. Thoughtful of build vs. buy decisions: You can build solutions, but you also review what tools are available. Comfortable with ambiguity: You can gather data and make informed decisions when there is no clear answer. Eager to solve hard problems: You challenge the status quo when it no longer makes sense, and don't shy away from big challenges. For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
