Meet High Pointe Church

For more than 100 years, God has led the High Pointe Family on a remarkable journey. Founded in 1917, a few families began gathering as a Body of Christ with the intent of making a difference in the community around them.

From the earliest days, God gave our church a vision of reaching Collin County for Christ, and God is still calling High Pointe toward that vision. We envision a community of Christ-followers courageously engaging culture with the hope of Jesus where we live, learn, and work.

The invitation from Jesus to follow him is an invitation to discover the purpose for which we’ve been created. We want everyone to share the hope we have found in Christ.

Our prayer is that you will join us on this journey of faith as we set our sights on helping others to GROW in their relationship with God, CONNECT in an authentic community, and SERVE others with their passions and gifts by the Holy Spirit.

About the Student Pastor

The Student Pastor oversees the programming for all student’s 7th-12th grade and their families. The Student Pastor builds relationships to guide parents and students through their teenage years while making parents the primary faith builders in their homes.

The Student Pastor creates an inclusive and exciting space for students to build on foundations of faith and become disciples of Christ who devote their lives to Jesus and encourage others to do the same. They also provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of the Student Ministry at High Pointe Church so that students can know and follow Jesus Christ.

The Student Pastor responsibilities include:

• Lead and organize effective student programs and events implementing fellowship, discipleship, service, and mission work.
• Actively reach out to and include Pointe Academy youth and their families.
• Recruit, train, and empower volunteers.
• Promote an environment where students feel connected to each other as a church family, where each student is valued and celebrated.
• Seek to integrate student ministry, using their gifts into all phases of church life to create an intentionally intergenerational culture that strives to unite with and complement other church ministries.
• Provide spiritual direction to team leaders and students individually as needed.
• Communicate with students and parents, informing them of ongoing activities.
• Explore and implement outreach events to connect students and families in the local community to our church.
• Carefully plan and manage the Student Ministry budget and calendar.
• Stay current with student ministry practices by reading, attending student leadership conferences, etc.
• Support parents in effectively fulfilling their Christian parenting roles.

Education and experience

• 2+ years of experience in a similar position is ideal.
• Under-grad degree in related field ideal.
