Job Summary: The Reading Tutor's primary responsibility is to read one-on one with elementary students at Havencroft Elementary on Wednesdays 9:30am-3:30pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Undergo Reading Tutor Training.
• Undergo training to work with therapy dog
• Provide Tutoring in Reading to elementary aged children
• Work with therapy dog
• Adhere to Havencroft Elementary's rules and regulations
• Independently manage time and follow the student reading schedule
• Report hours through PayCom
• Provide own transportation to Havencroft Elementary

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements:

• Reading and Comprehension Skills
• Work well with children
• Be comfortable with large dogs, able to learn a few key commands, comfortable navigating the school building with the therapy dog, and comfortable receiving training and feedback when working with the therapy dog
• Be professional in the work environment, be compassionate with children and dogs, be responsible, honest and maintain high integrity
• Represent the mission of MidAmerica Nazarene University
• Be enrolled at MidAmerica Nazarene University
• Have done a FAFSA for the current academic year
• Be Federal Work Study (FWS) Eligible as determined by FAFSA
