The CADC II is responsible for providing professional substance abuse counseling and case management services to individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating group and individual counseling, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support clients in their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Assessment & Treatment Planning:

• Develop individualized problem lists based on client needs and clinical best practices.
• Monitor and adjust problem lists to ensure progress and effectiveness.

Counseling & Support Services:

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing).
• Educate clients on substance use disorders, coping mechanisms, and relapse prevention strategies.
• Facilitate support groups, psychoeducation sessions, and skill-building workshops.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary.

Case Management & Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and timely client records in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Collaborate with medical professionals, social workers, probation officers, and community resources to coordinate client care.
• Assist clients in accessing social services, housing, employment, and additional support systems.

Compliance & Professional Development:

• Adhere to state licensing requirements, HIPAA regulations, and agency policies.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and supervision.
• Stay informed on current best practices, research, and trends in addiction treatment.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

• CADC II Certification (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor II) through an accredited state or national organization.
• Additional certifications (e.g., ASAM I/II, Motivational interviewing, trauma-informed, CBT, relapse prevention) are a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 - 5  years of experience in substance abuse counseling, behavioral health, or a related field.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including those with co-occurring mental health disorders.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of addiction treatment modalities, relapse prevention, and case management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and crisis intervention skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards.
