Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced associate attorney to join its toxic tort litigation practice in California. Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of toxic tort litigation matters across California.
- Conduct and defend depositions, including those of expert witnesses.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trials.
- Draft and respond to discovery requests and pleadings.
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, memoranda, and court filings.
- Participate in trial preparation and provide litigation support.
- Ensure compliance with court filing procedures, including e-filing.
- Maintain organized case files and accurate timekeeping records.
Requirements:
- At least two years of experience in toxic tort litigation, environmental liability, or complex civil litigation.
- Strong litigation skills, including handling depositions and motions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases effectively.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Certifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in California.
Skills:
- Proficiency in legal research and writing.
- Strong communication and advocacy skills.
- Ability to analyze and strategize complex legal issues.
- Knowledge of e-filing procedures and case management systems.
- Ability to handle high-volume litigation caseloads efficiently.
