Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry/Step Down position requiring strong cardiac and IMC/PCU/Tele background with ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
• Patient population includes post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post procedure cath, pacemaker, defibrillator, ablations, acute chest pain/MI, and med/surg overflow cases
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
• Schedule consists of 12-hour day shifts (0700-1930), with every other weekend and holiday required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• No on-call or call back required
• EPIC charting system is used and 1 year recent experience is required
• Responsibilities include caring for cardiac stepdown and a variety of med/surg overflow patients in a dynamic environment
• Candidates must demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and strong independent time management skills
• Scrub attire in any color is permitted
• Orientation hours may vary and are not guaranteed during the first week
• Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• If asked to act as charge RN during assignment, it must be documented on the timecard

Requirements

• Active WI RN license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
• Must have at least 1 year of strong cardiac experience in a Cardiac SDU/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU setting
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Tele experience required
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro Drips is mandatory
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Must be able to pass an EKG test in the first week of hire
• Must live outside a 50 mile radius of the facility for consideration
