Job Title: Utility Locator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Utility Locator to join our team. The role involves the skilled use of locating equipment to accurately identify and designate underground utilities such as water, gas, and power. The position requires the interpretation of utility depth information and the precise marking and flagging of designated utilities, ensuring that all markings are thorough, legible, and comprehensive for the surveying team. Responsibilities Efficiently utilize locating equipment to designate underground utilities. Correctly identify types of utilities, including water, gas, and power. Interpret utility depth information as reported by the equipment. Accurately mark and/or flag designated utilities on the ground surface, along with estimated depths. Ensure that all markings are thorough, legible, and comprehensive for the surveying team. Properly store and care for equipment used in the field. Essential Skills Experience in utility locating. Proficiency in subsurface utility engineering. Understanding of underground utilities. Valid US Driver's License. Authorization to work in the US. Physical ability to walk 3-5 miles a day carrying heavy equipment. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds. Willingness to travel as required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Motivated individual with a willingness to be trained. Prior experience in utility locating is a plus. Work Environment The role involves working outdoors and requires physical endurance, as the position entails walking long distances and carrying equipment. Candidates should be comfortable working in various weather conditions. Proper attire for fieldwork is necessary. Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Poughkeepsie, NY. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
