We are seeking to hire Veterinary Assistants or Registered Veterinary Technicians with Surgery and Anesthesia Experience! Pay will be based on experience.

Location: Elon Oaks Veterinary Hospital

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Has prior veterinary experience (required) and demonstrates confident, safe animal handling.
• Has direct experience assisting with surgery and monitoring anesthesia—this is a non-negotiable requirement.
• Is genuinely enthusiastic about client education and service.
• Has strong computer literacy and can learn new platforms quickly.
• Possesses excellent spelling, typing, and verbal communication skills.
• Is self-motivated, punctual, and follows through thoroughly on tasks.
• Values collaboration, but can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Maintains a positive, team-first attitude even under pressure.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Safely admit patients and collect relevant medical history.
• Assist with surgical procedures and monitor anesthesia safely and confidently.
• Prepare and process lab work (in-house blood tests, cytology, etc.).
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with appointments and treatments.
• Accurately enter medical records and charges in our system.
• Handle prescriptions and medications with precision and attention to detail.
• Follow clinic safety and cleaning protocols without cutting corners.
• Use apps and client communication tools to enhance the care experience.

• Experience with exotics (reptiles, birds, small mammals).
• Familiarity with [Insert Clinic Software Name if applicable].
• Confidence with medical math and inventory tracking.

This Role Is NOT for You If:

• You are uncomfortable with a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
• You dislike frequent client interaction or multitasking.
• You're looking for a job where you can “just show up” without active engagement.
• You're not confident using technology (apps, messaging platforms, digital records).
• You do not have hands-on experience with surgery and anesthesia.
• You are not experienced with or comfortable handling cats, dogs, and small exotics.

Schedule: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri and Sat - every Wed off and one other day off that rotates
