The Yardi Training Technical Writer is an experienced and dynamic team player who will support the successful adoption and use of the Yardi Senior product suite.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials that support the effective use of various Yardi systems.

The ideal candidate will combine strong writing and communication skills with a technical mindset, enabling them to translate complex system processes into user-friendly resources. You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments, subject matter experts (SMEs), and system administrators to ensure the accuracy, clarity, and usability of all content.

The Yardi Training Technical Writer will be required to work within a high demand, performance driven environment that focuses on implementing scalable solutions that are aligned with the company's overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain user-focused documentation including SOPs, user guides, job aids, workflows, and knowledge base articles for Yardi systems.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather, verify, and translate complex technical processes into clear, concise content.
  • Develop process flow diagrams and visual tools that illustrate system workflows and best practices.
  • Design and maintain documentation templates and standards to ensure consistency, compliance, and reusability.
  • Edit and update existing documentation for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (IT, Finance, Operations, Clinical) to ensure documentation supports operational needs and system usage.
  • Translate Yardi functionality and system changes into training content or reference tools for a range of end users.
  • Support training initiatives by creating instructional materials in various formats (text, video, interactive guides)
  • Manage documentation version control and ensure timely updates across centralized systems and LMS
  • Conduct quality reviews and user testing of content to ensure usability, clarity, and effectiveness

Weekly out-of-area and overnight travel should be expected as outlined in specific projects for which this role will engage.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Instructional Design, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Agile, Six Sigma, or PMP certification strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as a technical writer, instructional designer, or content developerpreferably in a healthcare, real estate, or senior housing environment.
  • Experience creating user documentation for enterprise systems, ideally Yardi, or similar property management/ERP platforms (e.g., RealPage, MRI, Entrata).
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and integrating technical content into training curriculum.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies is advantageous.

Skills / Specialized Knowledge:

  • Exceptional technical writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and engaging content
  • Proven ability to research technical concepts, systems, and terminology to support accurate documentation
  • Strong audience analysis skills, with the ability to adapt tone, format, and depth to match varying user needs
  • Solid understanding of technical subject matter, particularly within Yardi platforms and senior housing operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and visual tools such as Visio or Lucidchart
  • Experience using content creation tools such as Articulate 360, Snagit, Camtasia, or similar
  • Ability to maintain a consistent voice and format across documents, aligned with organizational standards and brand tone
  • Sharp attention to detail with high standards for grammar, formatting, and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment while prioritizing effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work collaboratively with subject matter experts, trainers, and stakeholders
  • Creativity in visual design, instructional storytelling, and presenting technical information in engaging, user-friendly formats
  • Flexible and adaptable writing style to suit different content typesmanuals, reference guides, LMS modules, and quick tips
