Job Description

Job details:

• Thoroughly inspect incoming used conveyor systems and components to identify wear, damage, and potential issues.

Refurbishment and repair:  

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, including replacing worn belts, bearings, motors, and drives.

Preventive maintenance:  

• Execute scheduled maintenance on all equipment to ensure its long-term reliability.

Troubleshooting:  

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical problems on a variety of systems, often under pressure to meet resale deadlines.

Testing:  

• Test all repaired and refurbished equipment to ensure it operates safely and meets performance standards.

Documentation:  

• Accurately complete work orders and maintain detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Safety:  

• Adhere to all safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures, and maintain a safe work environment.

Inventory management:  

• Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of spare parts and tools needed for maintenance.

Modification:  

• Assist with upgrades, modifications, and installations as needed for specific systems being prepared for resale. 

Experience:  

• Proven experience in mechanical repair, with a preference for experience with conveyor systems and material handling equipment.

Technical skills:

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including motors, gear reducers, belts, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Basic electrical knowledge and ability to read schematics and diagrams is essential.
• Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.

Problem-solving:  

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex issues efficiently.

Attention to detail:

• Meticulous approach to inspections, repairs, and documentation.

Physical requirements:  

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, and pulling.

Other:  

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team and a strong commitment to safety.
