Located in Delray Beach, FL

Salary: $21-$33/hr. + Signing Bonus

$$$ SIGN-ON BONUS $3,000 to $5,000. DEPENDING ON LICENSE. $$$

We are seeking a skilled and certified Licensed Water Treatment Operator (A/B/C Certificate) to monitor, operate, and maintain systems that treat and distribute potable water. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and safeguards public health by delivering clean, safe drinking water. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and committed to environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations

• Operate and monitor pumps, valves, filters, chemical feeders, and other treatment equipment
• Adjust chemical dosages and process controls to maintain water quality standards
• Collect and analyze water samples for pH, turbidity, chlorine residuals, and other parameters
• Record operational data, meter readings, and lab results in logs and digital systems

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal water quality regulations (e.g., EPA, DEP)
• Respond to alarms, equipment malfunctions, and emergencies promptly
• Maintain safety protocols and use appropriate PPE
• Assist with inspections, audits, and reporting for regulatory agencies

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical and electrical systems
• Identify and report equipment issues requiring advanced service or replacement
• Assist with preventive maintenance schedules and inventory management

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain accurate records of daily operations, lab results, and maintenance activities
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and external stakeholders
• Participate in training, certification renewals, and continuing education

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid FL state Water Treatment Plant Operator (A/B/C Certificate)
• 2+ years of experience in water treatment operations
• Knowledge of water treatment processes, chemistry, and regulatory standards
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and lab results
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with SCADA systems
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or coursework in environmental science, chemistry, or a related field
• Dual certification in water distribution or wastewater treatment
• Experience with automated control systems and digital reporting tools
