As a Senior Software Tester at Focus School Software, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will lead testing efforts, mentor testers, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, delivering training sessions to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Complex Feature Testing: Test intricate new and existing features with a focus on thoroughness and accuracy.
Expertise: Demonstrate expert knowledge in specific areas of Focus, becoming a go-to resource for complex issues.
Test Plan Development: Develop comprehensive test plans for large and complex features, ensuring all aspects are thoroughly covered.
Technical Proficiency: Possess a strong understanding of technical concepts, including SQL and browser debugging consoles.
High-Quality Work in Fast-Paced Environment: Maintain testing quality and deliver results efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Bug-Free Testing: Ensure the highest quality of testing with minimal defects and bugs.
Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest testing tools, technologies, and industry trends to maintain a cutting-edge approach.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Minimum of two years of experience as an employee at Focus School Software or a minimum of four years of experience as a school or district-level administrator working directly with the Focus suite of products.
Demonstrated experience in mentoring, team leadership, and providing guidance on Focus’ suite of products and best practices.
Proven ability to support and evaluate software releases, contribute to user acceptance testing (UAT), and participate in planning and process development activities.
Strong understanding of SQL, debugging tools, and web technologies; experience with PHP and JavaScript is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining high quality standards.
