Job Description The Tax Attorney will advise on all aspects of optimizing corporate tax, defend high net worth clients against tax agencies and IRS disputes. Assist clients with the organization and operation of their business enterprises, the planning, structuring, financing, negotiation and execution of business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, restructurings, re-capitalizations and joint ventures, and the development and execution of their tax planning strategies. Handle court filing, motions, responses, appeals, negotiation and defense. Experience handling cases from administrative appeals boards to State and US Supreme Court at all levels of the judicial process. This is a very forward-facing position. You will be in constant communication with clients and the face of our engagements, not confined to a support role or a back office. Success on client engagements depends on your ability to be flexible, multi-task, and wear a variety of different hats. Clients generally come to us with one issue, but often have multiple challenges that get addressed during the course of their matters. Success is defined by what is best for the client given the resources that they have and by the results we are able to achieve. This is a remote hybrid role with flexibility on location and working hours, though many of our clients are in the Pacific Time Zone. Our attorneys in the EST or CST time zones generally start earlier and end earlier in the day. Our headquarters is in San Diego, and we try to get together in person at least 2-3 times yearly. Expected attorney output is roughly a nine-hour day, 1750 annual billable hours, based on a 48-work week year and an 85% utilization rate. The company offers a Your Way Program and Unlimited Vacation Time Off system where attorneys can design their workweek schedules. We maximize our people's flexibility and autonomy to meet the demands of the modern working world. Skills Required 3+ years of experience in Tax, M&A, Corporate or Asset Protection Law. Experience working with high net worth clients and complex transactions. Strong experience with legal research and writing. Growth-oriented and willing to take on increasing challenges. Skills Preferred Licensed Attorney in California is a plus but not required. Knowledge of income tax mitigation structures and trusts is a plus. Experience working with large regional firms, IRS Office of Chief Counsel, or Big 4 Accounting Firms. #J-18808-Ljbffr Crossroads Staffing
