Experience and Qualifications

BA or BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related laboratory science. 3-5 years related lab/industrial experience. MS in similar fields with 0-2 years post graduate lab or industrial experience.

Job DescriptionScientists at Biomeme serve cross-functional roles, with the majority of time at the bench in support of R&D of Biomeme’s novel nucleic acid detection and extraction technologies. Scientists may be asked to work semi-independently on projects and may also interface with other groups such as Quality and Engineering in support of their efforts.

Responsibilities

Scientists support in the development of multiplex assays, from target selection through to laboratory validation in both regulated and non-regulated markets, by performing the following tasks:

  • Supports in development of multiplex nucleic acid amplification assays, from target selection through to laboratory validation in both regulated and non-regulated markets
  • Provides R&D support for Biomeme's nucleic acid sample preparation technologies for a variety of sample matrices Grant / publication writing;
  • Maintains data management, processing, and display
  • Contributes to the creation of SOP's and other documents in support of our quality management system (ISO 13485)
  • Completes and maintains documentation related to assigned work, including hardcopy and electronic lab notebooks.
  • Maintains and adheres to safe work habits and all applicable safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Inspires and constantly strives to make Biomeme a great place to work and be respected for the quality of its people, products, and clients;

  • Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques and molecular biology techniques and workflows
  • Experience in experimental design and execution
  • Ability to interpret results, determine conclusions and present data clearly and concisely to the broader team

Preferred
  • Working knowledge of handling nucleic acids , PCR and RT-PCR and alternative amplification technologies a plus.
  • Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device Industry experience.
